I have always been interested in movies, especially cinematography. I have wanted to look into film schools, but I have no clue where to even start. I am a high school senior with not the best ACT scores and not the best GPA (19 on my ACT and 2.8 GPA). I am taking colleges classes for my entire senior year, so by the time graduation comes around I will have an entire year of college done.
I am a strong writer, and I was a part of my schools news team. We should each come up with a script and film scenes for our schools news team, and my segment was "random facts". I always had big visions, but it was tough making my visions come to life with not the best editing software and iPhone camera quality. I was also on my schools yearbook team for 3 years and I am familiar with interviewing and writing stories out of practically no information.
What I am worried about is having nothing for a possible portfolio. I also do not know which film schools I would qualify to get into. I know for certain that I will not get into the top film schools, but I want to find a way to get my foot into the door and start my life out of high school on the right track.
Any advice?
